Clouser’s JP Cross Cut Minnow

Description:

Clouser's JP Cross Cut Minnow is a versatile fly designed by Bob Clouser and his friend Jackie Prock. Building on the classic deep minnow, this pattern swaps in cross-cut rabbit for greater movement and a wider silhouette in the water. The design uses a flash tail that extends beyond the body, delivering persistent shimmer and helping imitate swimming baitfish. The combination of cross-cut rabbit and extended flash creates a lifelike profile that performs across a range of water types and conditions.

Tied on durable stainless hooks, the JP Cross Cut Minnow stands up to both fresh and saltwater environments and repeated strikes. It is offered in a variety of colors to match local forage and light conditions, from brighter flats tones to more subdued river hues. This pattern has proven effective for trout, panfish, bass, carp, redfish, bonefish, and many other species, making it a reliable all around fly for anglers chasing migratory and resident fish. Whether you fish tight to structure, in open water, or on edge lines, this fly delivers compelling movement and a wide silhouette that draws bites.
