Description:

Westin Platypus Crankbait

The Westin Platypus Crankbait, designed by renowned Scandinavian lure maker Allan Christiansen, has earned a reputation as one of the most effective big-pike lures ever produced. Developed through 32 prototypes and countless hours of fine-tuning, the Platypus delivers a unique swimming action that remains stable and highly attractive at both extremely slow and high retrieve speeds.

Slow-Rising, Highly Persuasive Action

A key feature of this model is its carefully engineered buoyancy. When paused during the retrieve, the lure will hang momentarily before slowly rising in the watera subtle yet deadly trigger for large, cautious pike. This behaviour makes it a standout crankbait for cold-water conditions in Ireland, especially during early spring when fish respond best to slow, lifelike movements.

Designed for Irish Pike Fishing

The Platypus is built to withstand aggressive strikes and tough environments found across Irish lakes and rivers. Its tight, dynamic swimming pattern makes it ideal for covering water efficiently while still allowing controlled slow retrieves for pressured fish.
