Rigging & Use
- Sizes 4 and 2: most popular for surfcasting and inshore work
- Sizes 6, 7, 8: better suited to light tackle when finesse presentations matter; can be tricky to tie heavy mono or fluoro to the smaller sizes
- Use as a leader-to-mainline connection that prevents line twist on lures with built-in spin
- 50-packs make sense for plug bag rebuilders and anyone running a lot of fluorocarbon leaders
Why We Like It
Spro is the standard for compact saltwater swivels. The strength-per-size is the best in the category a tiny Spro size 6 will outpull a swivel three times its diameter from most other brands. We use them on practically every leader we tie, and the 50-packs make sense once you realize how many you go through in a season of fluorocarbon leader work.
